I am from the Bahamas. I am a teacher by profession. I am interested in homeschooling. How did you get accredited to homeschool your kids so they count towards a diploma?

Hi, Our family is embarking on a year long sailing adventure up the east coast of the USA and down into the Bahamas. I will be ‘boat schooling’ our two daughters while on our adventure June 2012-June 2013. They will be in 7th and 10th grade. Our daughters attend a private, Christian, college prep school, The Epiphany School: http://epiphany-nb.org/, here in New Bern, NC. I have been researching all of my options for boat schooling. My biggest question and concern is whether or not we will be able to reliably receive wifi access as we sail around and explore the Bahamas. We have purchased a Wirie antennae (www.thewirie.com) and should be able to receive signal up to 15 miles offshore.

Do you know if or how we might receive wifi signal for free or by paying for it while we are in the Bahamas Dec. 2012-June 2013? Thank you for any suggestions or referrals to other resources to pursue boat schooling in the Bahamas!

Love it! We have a set menu for breakfast too (have strayed from it lately though) and lunch is generally sandwiches too! I try to plan dinner around what’s in the fridge/ cupboard and what’s on special. Thanks for sharing!

What’s up with not telling me you were sick!!! OH HEIDI!!!! I didn’t even know to pray!!!!
I’m glad you are feeling better and that you are almost back to yourself. Keep the schedule if it works… we’re finding a less “repetitive” schedule is working here too. The Littles are thriving and the Bigs feel like I’m wasting less of their time. It also is allowing a lot of work-to-learn opportunities which is a real blessing to at least Kenzi. )
